How bout a progress update?

I know there are other threads about this, but frankly most of them sound rude, self-entitled, and whiny, and I don't want to be a part of them.

After the PC version was pulled I was greatly disappointed, having just saved up enough to buy the game. I was heartened at the regular updates that were coming out though, and expected to be kept up to date on my favorite game series (no lie, I have about 700 hours on all the Arkham games combined). Unfortunately, we haven't been given an update in almost a week.

I'm not asking for the moon here. I don't need to know what the engineer had for breakfast to fuel his/her coding, I don't need hourly updates or a personal apology. All I want is what y'all started to do and just as quickly stopped, a quick update every few days. Just because I am trying to be civil doesn't mean I'm not going bonkers waiting to play this game...I scour the web for updates 8-10 times a day. Throw your fans a bone and let us know how things are going, please?

Re: How bout a progress update?

I understand what u are saying man ! They ALWAYS treat pc gamers like **bleep** , they don`t give a **bleep**ing **bleep** about us .

I am also frustrated that they did not gave us an update or at least news for almost a week , and i know that many more are as well .

I don`t think that they give a jack**bleep** about this forum as well so ..

Re: How bout a progress update?

I really wish they would have a blog about this. That way someone at Rocksteady could give updates every few days.

I also haven't asked for a refund on Steam yet, but I'm also not playing the game. I just keep hoping for more news.

Re: How bout a progress update?

They have a post on the Steam store page about what they will be working on. So why can't you (and everybody else) just leave it at that?

There's obviously a lot of work that needs to be done. They should be left alone for a while so that they can concentrate on doing a quality job.

nope i/we wont let it go that we got scammed by WB/Rocksteady. False advertisement, no review copies, releasing a game of which they knew that it was broken... Why the hell should we leave them alone?

Re: How bout a progress update?

So they can concentrate of fixing the game.

What would you rather have? A good quality fixed game? Or a glorified PR campaign?

Go to the Steam store page. They already have a post of what their working on. Let them do their thing.

Re: How bout a progress update?

i wont have a fixed game anyways because i refunded it and wont touch any WB/Rocksteady game again if they

a) dont explain what exactly went wrong
b) and more importantly they tell us what they do that this **bleep** doesnt happen ever again.

Enough is enough I will stay vocal about this until this scam stops. If they get away with this mess (again) it will happen again and again.

Re: How bout a progress update?

Nope. Nope and Nope.

They had a few years to develop the game and not completely **bleep** it up in the process. If they had done it right in the first place, they wouldn't be in this mess now. So... nope -

We deserve more frequent updates than, well, once or twice. They cocked it up completely, they need to be berated constantly until they fix it.

Re: How bout a progress update?

Anyone who thinks people should stop complaining just because they are 'supposedly' fixing the game is as incredibly blind. We aren't much focused on the game at this point, but the incredible arrogance, greed and anti consumer attitude WB had for releasing the PC version. If you don't want to focus much energy or don't care about the quality consistently across the platforms, then just don't make the **** game.

Re: How bout a progress update?

First of all guys. We need to be very clear on who did what for the game, and where responsibility lies.

First of all…Rocksteady is the main developer of the franchise, however the PC port of arkham knight was outsourced to Iron Galaxy Studios. They had a team of 12 developers working on it.

Secondly, Warnee Brothers are the publishers here of the game. What's the publishers job you ask? In a nutshell, they're the overlord/taskmaster. They control the game's budget, where the budget is allocated to, release date, and they are also the ones the developers have to talk to get a delay on the release date or anything like that.

So, while yes Rocksteady and Iron Galaxy bear some of the blame in heir role in this fiasco, ultimately the most blame lies with WB. They decided to outsource PC development, to a CONSOLE studio, of 12 developers who had previously screwed up in developing for PC. Additionally, they were the ones who insisted that the game ship out regardless of whether it was completed or not. Publishers aren't exactly very knowledgeable when it comes to video game development, and simply look at the numbers on the budget and such.

Rocksteady is already hard at work trying to salvage something good from this disaster and I certainly applaud them, because they have their work cut out for them. Seeing the number of posts regarding bugs, glitches, and problems…hell just looking at the number of posts in this forum alone will tell you that. However, this work will take time. How long? Weeks? Months? We don't know, and not do they. It will take as long as it needs to take. In the mean time WB is losing a lot of money And potential revenue they could be getting, because they were forced to suspend sales of the PC version. That to me is good, because that'll teach them the hard lesson of not to screw around with PC players, and to afford them the proper time and attention a developer needs to get the game FINISHED BEFORE RELEASE.

So everyone…BE PATIENT. Go play something else to distract you while Rocksteady works.

Re: How bout a progress update?

Well according to SteamDB, they've been working on something. Hopefully we should get an update soon.

Re: How bout a progress update?

Everyone calm down. A patch will be released in a couple of months! People should not be outraged by this and instead be patient becuase it's not like they were given extra time, let's say, 2 delays at all!

This is basically what i get from the people that are just saying be patient. Patient? I waited in line at midnight for this game, after 2 delays, and becuase they couldn't do they job right the first time, i got to deal with this crap

Re: How bout a progress update?

so.......

you're going to blame a group of 12 people who were understaffed and underfunded (oh and the fact that they specialize more in console development as opposed to pc), for publishing a sub-par product because the publisher basically wouldn't allow them any more delays in delivering the product so that it would coincide with the release of the XB1 and PS4 versions.

Why do I say 12 people? because development of the PC port was not handled by Rocksteady, it was outsourced to Iron Galaxy Studios.

In all honesty, i'm not surprised the pc port is crap given how basically all the stars/signs aligned for a bad deal for PC players.......(however we only found all this out AFTER the game was released, which is even more sad; i mean if pc players knew about the fact that the PC port was being outsourced to 12 console developers, WB would have likely QUICKLY changed their minds about that)

Re: How bout a progress update?

Nagging them won't do any good... Whether they update us or not update us, it will take the SAME amount of time to release whatever they're working on.  I want to be updated everyday or as soon as possible as much as anyone else but I've pretty much given up on expectations and moved on, even though I do check on this site occasionally for updates...
