Warmonger Machine Build.

This build focuses on TONS of explosions. It's not exactly the most effective build, and it is SO satisfying to use. The bright lord will be causing lots of explosions that have the chance to set fire. By setting things alight, the Warmonger gear abilities kick in and heal the player when they are on fire AND whenever an enemy dies while on fire. The minimum required build is enough to cause consistent explosions with the percent chance or orcs detonating, alongside the warmonger gear healing or at least minimizing the total health lost.

Fave things to do in the build:

Walking into fire pits and healing up

Shoot grog barrels at point blank range and healing

Using sappers from stealth to cause explosions

Watching corpses explode

Fully charged glaive combos

MINIMUM REQUIRED ie. most Important pieces

1 piece of Warmonger Armor, Cloak, or Rune

1 piece of Machine Armor, Cloak, or Rune

The Warmonger defense pieces allow Talion to heal some while he is on fire. With a high enough healing number (either achieved by more pieces or by higher level pieces of armor), Talion will actually GAIN health while on fire.

The Machine defense pieces cause orc corpses to explode at a certain percentage.

Combined Talion will actually heal whenever he is lit on fire by the surprise explosion of the orc corpses.

COMPLETE BUILD

Machine Set Bonus, Summon Sappers (2 pieces)

Warmonger Set Bonus, Heal when enemies on fire die (2 pieces)

Machine Sword - Threshing

Glaive attack creates an explosion

combined with the ability Deadly Striker and you can charge up multiple attacks of booms.

You get this from a Machine Slayer or Berserker

Machine Dagger - Threshing

Quick throw creates an explosion every 12(ish) seconds

combined with the ability - Swift barrage, you can throw 2 daggers quickly to cause 2 explosions

You get this from the Machine Assassin or Tracker

Machine Cloak -

Orc Corpses explode 20%(ish) of the time

You get this from the Machine Trickster or Beastmaster

Warmonger Armor - Armor of War

Recover 8(ish) health while on fire.

You get this from a Warmonger Tank or Destroyer

Warmonger Rune - Rune of War

Recever 8(ish) health while on fire.

You get this from a Warmonger Commander or Trickster

Bow - Anything that makes fire or explosions (users choice).

Final ability augments

Cleansing blaze on Elven Light and Firestorm on Mighty Shot.

Cleansing blaze and the Firestorm work as healing methods in this build. By using these moves the Brightlord can kill multiple grunts with fire and return back to health very quickly.

Potential Body Guard.

Anyone with Fire proof.

Best choice - Anyone who is a Fire Destroyer.

Balefire Build

Sword - Epic Fire sword - firestriker - set enemies on fire w critical hit, do extra dmg to enflamed enemies

Dagger - legendary arcane - 40% less focus consumed on chain stealth attacks, gain 6 wrath per stealth kill

Bow - legendary dark - poison chance on headshot, extra poison dmg

Armor - legendary dark - 50% chance poison grunts when hit, 25% chance poison on crit hit

Cloak - epic fire cloak - firekeeper - enemy stay enflamed longer

Rune - epic poison ring - 15% chance poison enemy w any attack when wrath full and 34% increased elven rage duration

Character skills - shelob's brood, spiders swarm fire pits, shadow dominate, full heal upon domination, first stealth attack consumes no focus, set elven light to poison and mighty shot to fire.

This build completely rocks.  Feel free to try it out.  Make sure to accumulate wrath very quickly whenever you need it by chaining together up to 7 stealth kills at a time.  Use elven rage w extra duration against any tough captains.  You can simultaneously unleash huge amounts of poison and fire attacks, wrecking everything in your path.  Use shadow dominate to heal fully whenever you become weak.  As always, exploit the weaknesses of the captains...  thanks and good luck!

And I liked it.

Re: Character Build Lab

Ahh yeah a Balefire build!

I look forward to doing one like this! Spiders are a great addition, and I like how you put some Dark Tribe in there. I'm going to keep my eyes out for this Epic Cloak, the firekeeper too. That sounds perfect.

You are getting me thinking about doing something like a Warmonger Dark combo and throwing in those spiders and Firekeeper. Maybe a separate build vid or one that I can share of multiple balefire builds to include yours.

I dig it dude! When I cite you for the build, would you like me to say "Steward" or use a different name?

And to your question,

Stream is here twitch.tv/monolithlive at 3 pm PDT aka 6 PM EDT.  Smiley Happy

Re: Character Build Lab

I will be sure to tune in tonight.  Firekeeper cloak is pretty common in my experience.  There is an analogous cloak for poison, frost, and curse.

You can call me steward of gondor, but i will also answer to keeper of the secret fire, flame of Anor, and my name of course, which happens to be Sarah.

Re: Character Build Lab

I'm using a 'Balrog' build at the moment. It consists of: Machine Dagger and Rune, Warmonger Sword, Hammer, Armour and Cloak. (I think this is right) I also have Iron Guard, chained executions, chained dominate and chained Shadow Strike. As well as that I have the skill where you punch them in the face loads as a Ground Finisher (I don't know what it's called) and basically all skills that cause more terror.
Basically you summon in Sappers, they blow up, you get lit on fire and start blowing up while gaining health and might and then everyone also lights on fire or runs away. This also works with grog barrels, there are other skills that contribute but I've forgotten them.
This is just my opinion and I'm just trying to help. I cannot offer tech support and am in no affiliated with Monolith.

Re: Character Build Lab

I came up with this in my spare time: A Vengeful Raider Build

Useful in: Fort Assaults/Defences.

Peices required: 4 Raider, 2 Vendetta (One of the Vendetta peices MUST be the rune)

How to use: Kill grunts with AoE attacks for Mirian. Use the Might and Mirian gained for high-damage Executions, to break/kill them. If you run low on Might, just spend health for executions. And if youre really low (which shouldnt happen thanks to Raider set, but in case you are), Shadow Dominate enemies for health.

Necessary abilities:

Elven Light (preferabbly fire as it ususally kills faster, but poison works too)

Talon Strike (AoE Damage)

Fire Arrow (More AoE options)

Shadow Dominate (Tonna Health when with Vendetta Rune)

Dominate

That ability that lets you double jump when vaulting

And that ability where you press down arrow to Heal captains (Enraging them works too, but Healing is more versatile)

**Note: I actually dont have all the pieces required for this build, so I dont know what weapons/armor pieces could be best for this build. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Character Build Lab

My current build is a "jack of all" build.
I find the secondary affix on a piece can make a big difference in effectiveness.
This build atm can; gain health while on fire,
Gain health while cursed,
Gain health for every strike of my sword,
Gain health for every kill,
Gain health for every Killed beast,
Recover focus per kill,
Can freeze enemies,
Can set enemies alight,
Gain big chunks of wrath if done from stealth and finally, gives my dominated grunts take less damage.
Oh, and mu glaibe explodes 😁

If i include gems, i get even more health back, give followers a damage boost and can stealth kill ologs.

If we include skills, i get mightback from counters, can get spiders from a fire pit and with poison mighty shot combined with cleansing blaze, can produce bail fire with my double charge of might. Though due to the weapons that promote fire, in theary i dont need cleansing blaze, bit its fun 🙂

The gear is as follows.
Machine sword = exploding glaive + chance of crits causing fire
Bright lords dagger = wrath from frozen enemies stealth kills and frost applied to quick throw every few seconds
Arcane bow = reduced chain of shadows cost and a chance headshots will cause fire
Armour of war = health per second while on fire and health per kill
Cloak of horrors = health while cursed and health oer beast kill
Arcane rune = reduced follower cool down, focus recovery per kill and set bonus with the bow gives my grunts less damage.

My sword has a perfect life gem giving me health oer strike.
My dagger has a perfect warrior gem allowing stealth kills on ologs
My bow has a perfect life gem giving me health per shot
My armour has a perfect warrior gem giving a damage boost to ALL attacks
My cloak has a perfect life gem giving me extra health
And my ring has a warrior gem giving my followers extra damage.

Combine all this with skills like ceaseless might and mighty reversal on top of cleansing blaze and venom mighty shot and my dude is a Beast!
Also, with chain of shadows, my drain set to recover arrows and my awsome bow from above im like a ghost. A fiery, poisonous, health regenerating ghost.

A ghost that can summon some mates with cursed weapons, just incase😁

Re: Character Build Lab

@VoidDragonLord When you get around to using that build I'd advise using White gems on your weapons as it increases the chance of Mirian dropping so increasing your chances of powering up.

Hi Tark Lord!

Thanks for the build! Could you write it out in the format that I did for the Fire Explosions Build? It'll help me if we end up sharing it on stream Smiley Happy.

Re: Character Build Lab

[ Edited ]

@BERTANDERNYWooh, I'm gonna be famous!!!

@MonolithJared

'Balrog' Build:

This build focuses on blowing everything up and lighting it all on fire, you gain health from being on fire and it causes damage to your enemies, it's good for crowd control and for any captain or higher ranked are Orc who isn't invulnerable to fire or explosions. A good tactic is to lead your enemies to a Grog Barrel, blow it up and fight your enemies. If there are no Grog Barrels just summon in your Sappers using Iron Guard and wait for them to go BOOM!! You could also summon in your Drake and wait for it to light you on fire. Captains with Fire Weapons are also a good target to try to take down as when they hit you, you start to gain Health. As well as this your attacks cause Fire damage every so often and to utalise this build's terror side you should Brutalize when you enter combat and then Execute when you can. If used correctly this build also builds your Might and Hitsreak very quickly.

The problems with this build are that it it's not very stealthy so if that's how you like to play this build won't be the best for you and it doesn't gain you many Followers so if you like huge armies to do your jobs for you I also woudn't advise using this build.

Gear:

(Warmonger) Sword of War - Execution sets Enemies on Fire, Critical Hits have a 42% chance to Light Enemies on Fire

(Machine) Threshing Dagger - Quick Throw Creates an Explosion every 10 seconds, 27% increased Stealth Damage when Health is Full.

(Warmonger) Hammer of War - Charded Ranged Attacks Create Fire Explosions, 24% Chance to Replenish 1 Elf-Shot per Ranged Kill.

(Warmonger) Armour of War - Recover 8 Health per Second while on Fire, 22% chance that a Critical Hit applies Poison.

(Warmonger) Cloak of War - Recover 8 Health per Second while on Fire, 33 Health Recovery per Stealth Kill.

(Machine) Threshing Rune - Defeated Enemies have a 24% chance of Exploding, Replenish 1 Elf-Shot when Dominating an Enemy.

Bonuses:

Warmonger 2/2 - Recover 50 Health when killing an Enemy is on Fire.

Warmonger 4/4 - While on Fire, you will periodically Explode, releasing a Burst of Flames.

Machine 2/2 - Call Followers Summons Sappers and Iron Guard Summons more Sappers.

Skills:

Fatal Counter, Fury, Wraith Execution, Unyielding Ferocity,  Terrifying Perscence, Dragon Song, Final Blaze, Iron Guard, Firestorm.

This is just my opinion and I'm just trying to help. I cannot offer tech support and am in no affiliated with Monolith.

Re: Character Build Lab

Yeah, for gems I plan on using:
White on all weapons

And green on all Armor

Green or Red on Rune, depending on the situation

Dark Balefire Caragor Build

This build focuses on two distinct pieces. 1 Poisoning everyone and then lighting them on fire, 2 having a Caragor party. This is the combo build based off of the votes from the last livestream. It was split balefire and caragor pretty neatly so I figured, let's do a double one.

Gameplay strategy focuses on gaining might using poison, or if you are feeling more feral, summoning caragors by focusing on the caragor "Howl" move.

Fave things to do in the build:

Elven Light with Poison, watching tons of dudes give me MORE might to do ANOTHER Elven light with poison.

Watching those poison dudes explode in poison clouds.

Watching a poisoned guy suddenly erupt in green fire after throwing a fire knife.

Shoot grog barrels after poisoning them and watching the might meter skyrocket

Having a caragor party.

Having enemy caragors turn on their masters.

Summoning spiders while on a caragor and sending the spiders from stealth, still on a caragor.

Summoning another caragor and seeing it's health go up

MINIMUM REQUIRED ie. most Important pieces

1 piece of gear with a "critical hits cause fire or poison" OR Dagger/Bow that cause that effect.

Then an elven light ability to cause Fire/poison, whatever is NOT what the other piece of gear is using. Once you poison/fire a guy then you use the other ability to cause the balefire.

1Caragor Cloak "Beast Caller" - Mounted Caragors Recover 15% Health when they howl

Having a gear piece handle the extra fire/poison effect allows you to save your might to cause the particular effect to occur. Personally, I like having two items with the critical hit to fire, and a second that is a critical hit to poison, because that allows you to avoid NEEDING might. However the Might ability will also help the consistency of the build.

The caragor cloak truly makes using a caragor a sustaining ability. Tons of caragors get summoned and it will keep your main caragor living and feeding just fine. NOTE though, Bestial Rage doesn't activate when using the cloak, so you can't summon caragors indefinetly.

COMPLETE BUILD, Version 1 (Note there is a possible preference change on the Armor Gear)

Legendy Dar Set 4 pieces.

Gain 1 might when enemies take damage from your poison

All attacks have a 15% chance to inflict an explosive poison on grunts

Darkest Sword

Increases pison damage to enemies by 25%

Critical hits have a 39% chance of lighting enemies on fire (random roll)

Get it from: Slayer or Destroyer

Darkest Dagger

Incresases poison damage to enemies by 23%

quick throw lights enemies on fire every 34 seconds

get it from: Assassin

Darkest Longbow

Increases poison damage to enemies by 23%

36% chance that a headshot lights enemies on fire

get it from Marksman or Tracker

Now the Armor Gear can be TWO different options.

Darkest Armor

39%  chance that enemies are poisioned when they hit you with melee

20% chance a critical hit applies poison

get from Tank

OR

VenomTaker (This is an EPIC piece of Armor)

Take no damage from poison

11 health recovery per kill

ORRRRRRRR

Machine Armor (Gotta look this up, was just told about it, kinda love the idea)

Darkest Rune

Enemies remain poisoned 77% longer

Replenish 1 elf shot when dominating an enemy.

Get it from a Commander or Tricster

Caragor Cloak "Beast Caller" (This is an EPIC Cloak)

Mounted Caragors Recover 15% Health when they howl "Doesn't work with Bestial Rage

75 health recovery per beast kill

Final ability augments

Poison on Elven Light and Firestorm on Mighty Shot.

Cluster of Spiders

Dire Caragor on Summon Mount

Poison Tendril - Bursting Toxin

Shadow Mount - Caragor Breaker

Caragor Rider with "Pounce" (My prefered, you can do Bestial Rage, but then the cloak doesn't work)

If you are at the endgame...

Raise Dead with the Caragor Augment

Killing off your Extra Caragors can heal you in this build.

Also you get arrows back whenever you dominate because of the Darkest Rune, use that with ground dominate to have inexpensive Shadow Strikes or Shadow Dominates

Finally, you can't be hurt from poison with venomtaker, however you still will LOSE your Might when poisoned. So it's to save you from damage, not the other negative effects.

Dropping Elven light surrounded by Grunts will rapidly give you Might from the poison damage. Also your main damage dealer is poisoning a target. Most of the weapons you'll wield increase duration and or damage of poison. The fire element just adds to the fun.

Likely you'll be using either caragors OR balefire while playing. However, it is possible to use both effectively. Just important to remember to avoid killing your caragors accidentally. Though you will get health from doing so. Also, you can always raise them from the dead if you have that ability in the end game. It's a great way to bring back your Dire Caragor.

Potential Body Guard.

Poison Proof is super valuable because of the grunts that can explode after being poisoned.

Although a beastmaster or anyone with a caragor pack makes you feel like you got a serious crew with ya.

Re: Character Build Lab

@MonolithJared
Are you tired of me tagging you yet? Lol

If there's room in the build without losing a vital piece, why not throw in a Machine piece that gives enemies a chance to explode on death? Would that interfere with the exploding poison? If not, some enemies would explode with poison and some with fire, creating even more Balefire funsies.

Re: Character Build Lab

I really want to try a Marauder Mirian build, too! Just gotta get more pieces of the set. All your gems can be white to increase money drops since the set bonus will take care of your healing and damage bonuses.
