Re: Introducing the Market

At the moment you can get them from silver warchests as well.

Re: Introducing the Market

Will the market possibly apply to the addition of DLC tribes?

Also, the rate of Mirian acquisition could be a difficulty modifier. The best difficulty settings in games are those that go beyond Easy-Medium-Hard and allow players to adjust individual settings, albeit with Achievements and Trophies disabled.

Re: The Game currency, latest stream question.

[ Edited ]

@Zerodrake001Not really it is optional you don't have to use your in-game currency or buy gold, you can just ignore the market and still play SoW like SoM nothing is locked away so in my opinion this is a great feature.

Re: War Chests in the future

Who's to say that this game is not worth every penny? I'm afraid i'm going to lose all my money in Shadow of War because it looks awesome already! by the way you don't have to use micro-transaction to get those captain if you want to just brand them in the open world go ahead they're not making you buy them. I like how they do stuff

Re: Introducing the Market

@Illusionrec I think they could've come up with something more interesting and immersive . It seem this loot box is a very lazy idea and which was copied from the other popular titles. This games feels like SoW Gear, armor, and orc drop systems was developed around micro-transactions and not the other way around . It seem micro-transactions was a major part in development of the gear and new rarity system.

Re: Introducing the Market

You are welcome!

Some games have poorly implemented microtransactions, and so it is understandable. We appreciate that you understand what we are trying to do!

Re: Introducing the Market

If you own DLC tribes, and the DLC tribes have been added to the game, then it is possible to get DLC orcs from the warchests.

At the moment, our difficulty affects damage and aggression. So you get orcs who are more passive and hurt less in easy, compared to normal and Nemesis.

Affecting Mirian is an interesting idea. Would add another layer to what we currently have.

On the other hand, I'd be worried about forcing players to "grind" for fortress upgrades on Nemesis. Especially when the orcs are more fearsome. Those upgrades become more important on the higher difficulties.

Re: Introducing the Market

You get more for completing community challenges, and if you want more of it, you can buy it.

If you don't want to spend money on microtransactions, then don't, it's that simple.

Re: Introducing the Market

What I was proposing is that a setting for the player to adjust Mirian rates be separate from the general difficulty setting. So a player could enjoy the hardest mode with normal Mirian rates. But then, that being accomplished, he could replay with less Mirian.

Or with self-discipline he could simply not spend as much. Ex: Don't buy skill modifiers. Don't fully equip one's army before a siege.

Other quantitative settings could be provided for additional layers of difficulty or handicap: frequency of ambushes, frequency of enemy gangs, increased vulnerability to fire or poison, ururk combat attack speed, etc.

Re: Introducing the Market—a concern and questions

The only thing that concenrs me is the idea that i could spend real money on gold and unlock a cool orc,  only to have him die soon after in a fortress assault or something. Then, the money I spent was wasted. It feels like a risky move to allow this in your game. What do you think about that? Is it just apart of the risk of buyinh them? Thanks guys, looking forward to playing the game and trying this system out either way.

How much gold do community events give you?

Re: Introducing the Market

[ Edited ]

I know this isn't related to the economy but it was shown in the stream so i have a few question about it since there were so many people questioning Jared that I couldn't get my questions out there.

What's the limit on captains we garrison in each category normal, epic, and legendary?

Are we able to get Mithril Mirian in the open world? or can we buy them?

For a second when I saw microtransactions, I was rather scared, but after watching the stream and you guys reassuring us that non of this is behind a "paywall" I'm pleased with this. Glad you guys put a feature in like this!

What people fail to realize here is YOU DO NOT have to go into the market AT ALL. If you don't want to do the microtransactions then DON'T. No one is forcing you to go in there and spend your money. Non of what is found in the Market is behind a paywall, you can find these orcs in the open world or just spend the silver currency that you get by playing the game.

Re: Introducing the Market

@MonolithJared so any Orcs we have in our Garrison won't be in the sandbox until we put em down in a region?

Gold Mirium Milestones

Was just wondering if the milestones mentioned in the game economy FAQ are repeatable? or are they once off achievment rewards. Thanks in advance and have a good day
