Orcs are birthed as full grown adults out of the primordial mud pits.

Re: Introducing the Market

That was our idea in designing the market.

And we agree, the players should have access to everything in game.

Re: Introducing the Market

You get training orders from only Warchests.

This includes the Silver Warchests that you buy with Mirian.

Re: Introducing the Market

Will there be fear upgrades, as in, can you upgrade your captain to fear something specific?

Re: Introducing the Market

Glad you are okay with it.

Gold exists for users who want to speed up their army building process. There are people who appreciate having the option. We don't want to restrict any players from playing our game. So we have the option for those that want a speedy option, and for those that choose to avoid it can do so without any negative impact on their game.

Re: Introducing the Market

Equipment like gear? Talion collects that whenever an Orc captain/warchief/overlord is killed.

Orcs can level up doing missions and will sometimes gain extra abilities like flame weapons or gangs supporting them.

Training orders are only available through chests, including the Mirian ones where you collect the  Mirian in game.

Re: Introducing the Market

@MonolithJared do the training orders you receive from silver warchests differ from the ones you get from the paid crates ?

The orc in the Market is the "Headhunter". He is an in game character and is somewhat like a slave trader.

I don't fully understand your second sentence though. Could you explain differently?

Re: Introducing the Market

That's actually a really interesting way to do DLC. Like stretch goals in crowd funding.

Our goal with providing a market was to allow players to use excess Mirian in the game, AND for players who want the option to speed up building their army. We want to avoid limiting any player with our game so now players can use the system, or they can avoid the system and have zero negative effects on their game.

Re: Introducing the Market

Mirian should, I'll go double check that to be sure.

You can't "earn" gold offline. It requires the player to either complete a community challenge or to purchase the gold.

Re: Introducing the Market

You can only get training orders with chests.

This includes the silver Mirian chests. These chests you purchase with Mirian that you collect in game.

Re: Introducing the Market

Not from a training order.

Those are for "traits' as opposed to fears

Re: Introducing the Market

Really happy to see that Monolith didn't bar anything behind micro-transactions and hopefully this means that the market will be a steady stream of revenue for long term support and content development

Re: Introducing the Market

Nope, they are the same.

Remember that all the chests give you the "same" orcs. The difference is that the higher tier chests give you more quantity and a guaranteed orcs with epic traits.

Silver Warchest - 1 training order (or boost), 2 orcs, 1 guaranteed to be Epic

BOTH of these can come out as a legendary orc

Gold Warchest - 2 training orders (or boost), 3 orcs, 1 guaranteed to be legendary and the others at least epic

So all 3 could come out as legendaries.

Mithril is all legendarys with a legendary training order

Re: Introducing the Market

Thanks for the clear outline and additional details. The system sounds great as is.

There will be ongoing complaints regardless of how it's implemented simply because of the wrongheaded but common prejudice that microtransactions are always greedy and game-breaking. Ignore unreasonable complaints. The market is a very cool surprise.

As you said, use of it is completely optional. And this is a single-player game. If players want to compete with each other, they can agree to forego chests and whatever else while streaming their games as proof of compliance. The market doesn't forcibly disrupt anything.
