I think the Gold amount is set, however the value of Gold to real money has yet to be decided.

 

You'll have to decide if it is worth it to you. You'll find legendary orcs as you play the game too. 

 

Getting an orc through a warchest, is the same as dominating one. 

 

So really it's a speed thing. You want 4 legendary orcs and a legendary training order? Cool, you can nab that. You worried about losing them? Then I'd get them by dominating instead.

If you were to buy say 1000 gold on one save, would that gold carry over to all of your other saves?

The game is balanced so you can play the game without using the Market. 

 

As you play the game you'll have excess Mirian, this gives you an option to use that excess Mirian if you like. Or you can let that Mirian build up as high as you want. 

 

 Getting and Orc from a warchest, is the same as dominating one in game. So if you want a legendary orc in game, you can go find one or you can go through the market. 

 

It's there as an option for players. Feel free to play as you decide!

because of microtransactions

this is more a joking thread when i heard of microtransactions i was likey maybe ill just pirate the game jokenly im most likely going to pay for it fully 
I HATE IT  dont get me wrong i dislike it STRONGLY THE Pratice even if it doesnt take away from the game its still bad it basicly paying for cheat codes.

Not necessarily.

 

Legendary orcs are indeed strong, you do collect them consistentally through the game as well. Also, they still have weaknesses, so a different orc could be more valuable to you because of their skills then a legendary in some circumstances. 

 

Also the legendary gear comes out at your level. So it won't be over powered as you play with it. It grows with you so it's never "unneeded" but it won't ever be OVER powered. 

 

That player will still be finding and dominating orcs in the open world.

I like the addition of the market, as well as the garrison and added follower commands/training/customization. Happy to hear no content wull be accessible through gold alone.

 

Basically, gold is for WB to make money off of lazy and/or consumption addicted players.

 

Sadly, even in Middle earth, capitalism consumes you.

 

Idea:

 

There should also be a secret dragon boss who sits on a mountain of all the money WB makes off os selling suckers gold, the dragon boss is impossible to defeat, and when you are killed by them they take all of your gold and add it to the pile.

You can have an orc in two different playthroughs in the way you describe.

 

Your orc will downlevel to you if they were way higher. 

 

So if you transfered him at 60, and you are level 20 when you pull him out, he'll go down to 20.

How do you get the equipment/gang/training stuff naturally? Is it only through war packs that they gain a gang of followers. That has yet to be explained?

I think you should get rid of the chest loot systems and add something better to fit with game theme instead of orcs coming out of loot boxes. And add something that can't be attain tho loot chest and only in game rewards!!

Epic and Rare weapons drop with relative frequency, and DON'T need an epic orc to drop. Though as you level up, your common weapons will become more powerful and you'll switch to your higher level commons.

 

Legendary ORCS are more rare. However, the number of legendary orcs you meet increases as you play through the game. 

 

The drop rate of common/epic/legendary orcs has nothing to do with the market. We balanced SoW first, so the drop rates there is set for what our designers and research has shown to be the most interesting. 

 

So if you just do the normal game, the game will be balanced for that.

Suggestion for a change in the gold purchasing system:

 

1. The amount of gold purchased by all gamers is viewable by anyone playing the game (bulk sum)

 

2. Post production free DLC stretch goals are based on the amount of gold procured by WB.

 

3. After the community has spent (example) $10,000 USD on gold, WB pays its artists and coders to build a new armor set or tribe set and release it to the public.

 

Rinse, repeat.

 

Now even the stingy gamers might have a reason to assist in buying stuff from you, and the game gets a tail end lifespan it might not have otherwise, down the line, beyond the regularly scheduled dlc expansions.

Feel free to avoid using the market then. 

 

When I play, I tend to use silver warchests for the training orders. It gives me an option to use my excess mirian and also upgrade the orcs I grew attached to in my game.
